Marcell Dareus hurt? FML
Per Rodney McKissic of the Buffalo news:
This guy better be fine but I guarantee he won't play Saturday, great. Those $1 hotdogs better not be a rumor
He walked off on his power per wgrz---Defensive end Marcell Dareus injured his left ankle during practice on Wednesday, according to a source.
The Bills’ first-round pick was seen in the locker room after practice walking on crutches with his left ankle heavily wrapped. It is unclear how the injury occurred or whether Dareus will be available for the team’s third preseason game Saturday against Jacksonville.

Dom @ Mohawk Place Buffalo 4/11/11
$12 to get in the door for the blogosphere bad of the day Dom. This secretive young band from Western Mass. is allegedly too broke to use their last name and have yet to put out a full length LP. Tonight, they were loud, motivated, and drank as many PBRs as songs played.
I doubt anyone in the band is over 22 years old but they were worth the price of admission. Still little known the way music is these days, there were maybe 45 people in attendance at Mohawk place in downtown Buffalo, NY tonight. The show highlight was easily their closer Living in America. They threw in a cover song mid way through the 8 to 9 song set that I didn't recognize but was fun and probably from the 80's.
Don't be shocked if this band gets bigger and the lead singer pulls a Cobain and dies by 27. Either way check them out if they're in town and hopefully they get around to releasing a proper album some day.

Cults w/ Magic Kids Buffalo 4/5/11
by Steve
Cults rocked Soundlab tonight in downtown Buffalo. They didn't take the stage will about midnight and played for roughly 35 minutes (which is to be expected since their full length LP hasn't even been released yet) but it was definitely worth the $12 admission. They sounded crisp clear and just like the recorded songs.
The highlight of the evening may be a tie between the sexiness of the lead singer of Cults, Madeline Follin, and the complete 100% meltdown of the second opening band Magic Kids. It was quite hilarious to hear the lead singer of MK complain that all he could hear was feedback and that he wanted to go to bed. After five songs or so the band just walked off. I don't blame him, they had about four sound check and everything sounded like shit but, c'mon man, man up. I had two good sarcastic comments "this isn't MSG bro" and later "he didn't commit suicide yet" when he poked his head out during the Cults set. Jeez, get a better sound guy Soundlab, and Magic Kids, take some of the blame.
The Cults self titled debut album drops June 7th. Their live show consisted of the lead singer, two guitarists, a bassist and a keyboard. The lead guitar played keys on one of the songs also. One final highlight was a shout out by the lead guitarist to Kurt Cobain on the date of his death 4/5/94. My suggestion don't miss them next time they're around.

Passion Pit live in Buffalo 6/17/09
Dude WTF. I had this fuckin date set in my phone for literally two months. Well, apparently so did 1,000+ other people cause the concert sold out, I didn't get in and at least 50 other people ran into the same problem. I ended up drinking at electric avenue for about 3 hours trying to find someone anyone with an extra ticket. Believe me, I wasn't the only one.
You pretty much had three options. Give up and go home, find somewhere that also had the orange wrist bands that night, or three sneak through the back door. Trying all three, your chances weren't great.
Honestly though, listening in the back alley wasn't half bad. The band sounded decent and after the first song the lead signer ( one of the mother fuckers graduated from Nichols ) said "yeah i talked to my band manager and he said why the hell would you wanna go to Buffalo" Well evidently we in Buffalo love good music, and especially from people that have ties to the area. Hot under ground, blog drool inducing indie rock bands take note. We can fill up a concert room quickly and easy.
Only regret is that this doesn't happen more often. PS Passion Pit, see you at Lollapalooza [sic]

Fuck the West Seneca town board
This is absolute bullshit. These pieces of shit board members who I have no idea who they are just fucked us again. What is the point of a politician other than to continue to secure his/her job and continue to get reelected. They don't care about the citizens they care about them selves.
If you haven't heard the news... the appellate judge, who ever that was, decided the wording on the sheets to collect signatures was misleading. So instead of being able to exercise our rights as citizens to vote and determine how our government is run we get kicked in the ass and pissed on.
THE VOTING ISN'T HAPPENING UNTIL THE SPRING NOW. If ever at all. Not to mention all of our money the town wasted to appeal this decision not once but twice. At this point I want to dissolve the town. Get all of these asshole politicians fired, out of office and in the unemployment line with 7%+ of the population around here. WOW I am beyond furious.
Thank you Kevin Gaughan, we'll win.
