Marcell Dareus hurt? FML

Per Rodney McKissic of the Buffalo news:

---Defensive end Marcell Dareus injured his left ankle during practice on Wednesday, according to a source.

The Bills’ first-round pick was seen in the locker room after practice walking on crutches with his left ankle heavily wrapped. It is unclear how the injury occurred or whether Dareus will be available for the team’s third preseason game Saturday against Jacksonville.

He walked off on his power per wgrz

This guy better be fine but I guarantee he won't play Saturday, great. Those $1 hotdogs better not be a rumor

Dom @ Mohawk Place Buffalo 4/11/11

$12 to get in the door for the blogosphere bad of the day Dom. This secretive young band from Western Mass. is allegedly too broke to use their last name and have yet to put out a full length LP. Tonight, they were loud, motivated, and drank as many PBRs as songs played.

I doubt anyone in the band is over 22 years old but they were worth the price of admission. Still little known the way music is these days, there were maybe 45 people in attendance at Mohawk place in downtown Buffalo, NY tonight. The show highlight was easily their closer Living in America. They threw in a cover song mid way through the 8 to 9 song set that I didn't recognize but was fun and probably from the 80's.

Don't be shocked if this band gets bigger and the lead singer pulls a Cobain and dies by 27. Either way check them out if they're in town and hopefully they get around to releasing a proper album some day.

Cults w/ Magic Kids Buffalo 4/5/11

by Steve

Cults rocked Soundlab tonight in downtown Buffalo. They didn't take the stage will about midnight and played for roughly 35 minutes (which is to be expected since their full length LP hasn't even been released yet) but it was definitely worth the $12 admission. They sounded crisp clear and just like the recorded songs.

The highlight of the evening may be a tie between the sexiness of the lead singer of Cults, Madeline Follin, and the complete 100% meltdown of the second opening band Magic Kids. It was quite hilarious to hear the lead singer of MK complain that all he could hear was feedback and that he wanted to go to bed. After five songs or so the band just walked off. I don't blame him, they had about four sound check and everything sounded like shit but, c'mon man, man up. I had two good sarcastic comments "this isn't MSG bro" and later "he didn't commit suicide yet" when he poked his head out during the Cults set. Jeez, get a better sound guy Soundlab, and Magic Kids, take some of the blame.

The Cults self titled debut album drops June 7th. Their live show consisted of the lead singer, two guitarists, a bassist and a keyboard. The lead guitar played keys on one of the songs also. One final highlight was a shout out by the lead guitarist to Kurt Cobain on the date of his death 4/5/94. My suggestion don't miss them next time they're around.
